Who you are hiring
I roofed before I ran ads for roofers.
Three years on roofs, foreman at my cousin's company in upstate New York. Then four years running paid marketing for roofing companies. I know what a lead is worth because I have loaded the truck for the job it turned into.
That is why every account I run is built around booked jobs, not clicks, and why I'll tell you when your budget is too small for Search to pay. I am Elijah, and you deal with me directly.
The landing page
Every account includes a landing page built for the ads, not your homepage. These are live pages I built for clients.

The first screen on a phone. Yours is built from your own photos, reviews and offer.
The estimate
The first call is the work, not a pitch. You get three numbers for your trade and your county, walked through live on a screen share.
Built from what people in your county actually search for your trade, not an industry average.
Your job value and close rate turn cost per lead into cost per sold job. That is the number that decides whether this pays.
How much it takes to show up often enough to matter, and whether Local Services is open for your trade where you work.
How the account is built
Most agencies send a report with impressions on it. This is what the work looks like inside the account.
Example layout
In every trade, the big job and the small job cost about the same per click. So replacement, repair and maintenance each get their own ad group, ads and budget, and the account pays more for the job that is worth more.
Example layout
Every week I read what people actually typed and block the ones looking for jobs, DIY videos or another company by name. Most wasted spend lives here.
Blue Bird Roofing, a page I built

Not your homepage. A page for the search they made, with the five parts that turn a click into a call. I build it as part of the setup.
Example layout
Calls and forms are tracked back to the ad group and the search, and calls are recorded, so you see which ads booked estimates and what each one cost.
The same build goes into every trade, shaped around the jobs that trade sells, and the account is in your name from day one. How I run Google Ads for home service businesses, and how it changes by trade.
Comparing agencies
Not every agency works like the typical one in this table. Ask whoever you talk to the same seven questions.
| Red Orca | A typical agency | |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs your account | Me, the person on your estimate call | Often an account manager after the sale |
| Contract | Month to month | Often 6 or 12 months |
| Whose name the account is in | Yours, from day one | Sometimes the agency's |
| What counts as a lead | A call or a form from a real person | Sometimes page views and clicks |
| Price | On this page, before you call | Usually after a sales call |
| Your competitors | One company per trade per county | Often no limit |
| Landing page | Built for your ads, included | Often your homepage |
Pricing
Google Ads is what most contractors hire me for. SEO is there when you want an asset that keeps working after the ad spend stops.
Google Ads management
from $1,500 a month
+ $1,000 once, to build
$1,500 covers ad spend up to $10,000 a month, and the price steps up above that. Ad spend is separate, at least $2,000 a month, paid straight to Google on your card and never marked up.
SEO
Local Services lead charges are separate and billed by Google. No build fee.
How SEO works hereWhat Google Ads costs you in a month, all in
To Google, on your cardManagement
Over $10,000: priced on the call; the monthly price steps up with spend.
Plus $1,000 once for the build. Local Services leads are billed by Google per lead, on top of these totals.
Everything on this page is on the pricing page in more detail, including what is not included.

Questions
Days 1 to 7, the build. Search campaigns, your landing page, recorded call tracking, Local Services and your Business Profile. You send the onboarding items, and it goes live inside a week.
Weeks 2 to 4, cleaning up the searches. I read the search terms every two days and block the ones that won’t hire you: job seekers, DIY, other companies by name.
Day 30, the first review call. What came in, what it cost, which calls booked, and what changes next.
Day 90, the real read. Judge it on cost per booked job, not cost per click. It is month to month the whole way, so you can walk away at any point.
What moves your result most is how fast you call leads back. I don't promise lead counts or jobs, because your close rate and your phone aren't mine.
Two things for home service businesses. Google Ads: Search, Local Services Ads and your Business Profile, plus the landing page they send people to. And SEO: your website, your Business Profile, links, and how AI assistants describe your business. Both are built around booked jobs, not clicks.
Home service businesses selling homeowners: roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, remodeling, basements and foundation, siding and windows, painting and concrete. The account is built around the jobs your trade sells, not a template. How it changes by trade.
Google Ads management is $1,000 once to build, then from $1,500 a month, which covers ad spend up to $10,000 a month. The price steps up above that. SEO is $2,500 a month. Ad spend is separate, paid straight to Google on your card, never marked up, and needs to be at least $2,000 a month to compete in most markets.
About thirty minutes on a screen share. I walk you through what a lead should cost in your county, what a sold job costs at your close rate, and how I'd set up the account. No account access needed, and it is useful whether or not we ever work together.
You need enough to compete in your market, which in most places means at least $2,000 a month paid straight to Google. If your budget is too small for paid search to work yet, I'll tell you that instead of taking the money.
Yes. The Google Ads account, the Local Services profile, the Business Profile and the landing page are all in your name. If you ever leave, they go with you and keep working.
Because two roofers in the same county bidding on the same searches through the same agency is a conflict of interest. Once a company in your trade signs in a county, I won't work against them. You can claim a 30-minute radius around your location instead of a county.
Albany, New York. Everything runs over video and screen share, and I work with contractors across the US.
They are part of every Google Ads engagement, set up and managed with Search. Local Services will be your cheapest leads and you will run out of them, because Google only sends as many as it has. Search is how you get volume past that. Google Ads or Local Services?
Last call
One company per trade per county. If yours is open, the estimate is how you find out what a lead should cost you there.
